Nothing says “Autumn” like a lovely little pumpkin.
Not only is the pumpkin fun to decorate your house, but it is delicious to eat.
Pumpkins and pumpkin seeds are surprisingly healthful to your body.
They are full of fiber, which helps you to stay full longer.
They are rich in vitamin A, which helps your vision.
The antioxidants and beta-carotene have cancer protective properties.
They also are rich in tryptophan, an amino acid that is a precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin (a mood stabilizer) and also melatonin, which most adults are deficient in.
Pumpkins are also a great way to restore electrolytes to your body for recovery. A cup of cooked pumpkin has more of the refueling nutrient potassium than a banana!
Raw pumpkin seeds are delicious! You can throw them on a salad, eat a handful as a snack, and try roasting them, delicious!
