Singing Canary
This is a powerful anti-inflammatory drink AND super nourishing and healing to the adrenals as well. This is one of the first things I make with any sign of a cold or sickness. It taste like a yummy orangesicle!
It takes a minute to peel the lemons, but the pith contains bioflavonoids, a healing component. 🍋🍊
🍊🍋”The Singing Canary” from THM with a little modification. I am big Trim Healthy Mama fan!
- 2 lemons ((peeled))
- 1 1/2 cup filtered water
- 1/2 – 1 tsp ground tumeric
- 1 tsp MCT oil (or 1/2 teaspoon extra-virgin coconut oil)
- 1 tsp protein powder or collagen
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 pinches salt ((generous))
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 pinch clove
- 1/4 tsp stevia extract
- 2,000 – 4,000 mg Vitamin C powder
- 1-2 drops lemon essential oil
- ice cubes
-
Peel the rind off the lemon(s) using a sharp knife. Leave as much of the white pith as possible as it has loads of nutritional benefits. I used the whole lemon, minus the seeds, if using organic lemons.
-
Slice each lemon into quarters. Remove the seeds, and place the lemon pieces into your blender.
-
Add water and all of the remaining ingredients besides the ice cubes. Blend well.
-
Place the blended mixture into a quart jar. Add ice cubes and more water to fill the jar to the top. Put a tight lid on the jar and shake before drinking.

**I double this recipe!
You might find that the drink is still a little too “bitter” due to the turmeric. I recommend starting with ½ tsp of turmeric and increasing from there if desired. After making the drink, if you still find it to be too bitter, you can add more stevia and/or vanilla to taste.

Hi Amy! I am Ellie from Malaysia! I notice that you do not strain the lemons after blending. Is is more beneficial without straining?
