This delicious, refreshing Lemon Ginger Water recipe will help detoxify, heal and rehydrate your body.
Hunger is often confused with dehydration. Next time you feel like a snack, have a glass of water. Even mild dehydration can alter your body’s metabolism, so aim to drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water. Limit soda, caffeine, and alcohol. It’s also been shown that drinking water before meals promotes sustainable weight loss. Studies show people who drink two glasses of water before meals feel fuller and eat less.
- Fresh lemon is a fabulous boost for your immunity with the added benefit of giving you brighter skin.
- Ginger has been used for centuries as support for the digestive system.
- The optional cayenne pepper will help rev up your metabolism.
I encourage you to tweak this recipe until you find the right amount of ginger to your preference. I really like the extra kick from the ginger and cayenne pepper. If you prefer and/or need the drink to be milder tasting, start with less ginger and no cayenne pepper. You can gradually add more ginger and/or cayenne pepper.
This drink is very refreshing and maybe even a little addictive – in a super healthy way!
