Good news that will put a smile on your face?
Let me tell you about the determination and leadership of my young friend Teddi.

Teddi, with the help of her family, raised over $7000 with Jackson, Mississippi’s first ever Tunnel to Towers 5K. The donations from this organization help fallen first responders pay off mortgages and build smart homes for their families.
Teddi Duckworth’s big brother, Pearce Robertson, runs this race every year in New York City. Pearce is a senior cadet at West Point Military Academy, so patriotism runs deep in this family.

Teddi loved the mission of the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, she had a dream of bringing this race to her local community, where she could raise donations for an incredible cause.
Tunnels to Towers honors the fallen hero and firefighter, Stephen Sillars. On September 11, 2001, Stephen, who was assigned to Brooklyn’s Squad 1 Fire Department, had just finished his shift when he heard about the Twin Towers being hit by a plane.
He drove his truck to the entrance of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, but it had already been closed for security purposes. Determined to carry out his duty, he strapped 60 pounds of gear to his back and raced on foot through the tunnel to the Twin Towers, where he gave up his life while saving others.
Not only did Stephen Siller’s live by St. Francis Assisi’s philosophy, “While we have time, let us do good,” it became his legacy.
May his legacy be a reminder for all of us to do good.
Well, Teddi, you “did good” today! You are a light and example in this country – may we all have the passion and courage to help others like you do.

Oh, did I mention she is only 15 years old? Dream big girlfriend! I am excited to see all the good you will continue to do. You inspire me and so many others!
